I have a class of 35 16-year olds who are mostly at B2-ish level of English. Many of them are reticent speakers so I hope that more small group work will encourage them to give it a go. This was a very good way of starting them off and meant my hands were free to wonder around and help out and encourage where needed and play devil's advocate with the groups with a slightly higher level. It was preceded by a youtube clip and discussion on earthquakes and how we don't have much experience of it here but the government has given permission for gas fracturing so many people are concerned about the possible effects (earthquakes/subsidence).
