Talk for learning card game
A lovely whole class role-play game to get to know the characters in Oliver Twist. This resource was written by Stuart Scott, former headteacher and OfSTED inspector, who is now an independent consultant and director of the Collaborative Learning Project.
Stuart's article 'Talk in the classroom' outlines the 'talk for learning' context of this resource, where he explains that by replacing Dickens' characters with geographical or scientific key words, or historical events for instance, this powerful teaching approach can work for any subject. It is also suitable for younger learners.
