Mexican wave plenary

This plenary activity can be used to reinforce sentence structure and word order in any target language and for any topic. It is suitable for all ages and abilities.

Students sit in rows and say one word each, in turn, to form a sentence. You can project a writing frame on the board to support them. As they say their word, they also leap up to create a Mexican wave around the classroom. 

Try repeating the activity against the clock to increase their speed and fluency. There's just one rule – the sentences must make sense!
